Friends

“Show me your company and I'll tell you who you are.”  Papa Lettunich (my dad).  In other words, you might seem cool, but if I meet your friends and they are shady then you're probably shady too.

You should only be able to count your close friends on one hand.  Otherwise they probably aren't close.

From the Dalai Lama’s 18 rules for living:

  • “In order to get a great friend, you need to be a great friend.”

  • “Remember that a great relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.”

  • “Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.”

On Travel:  Company is more important than accommodations.  You can stay in a 5 star resort with a rich but annoying acquaintance and have an average to shitty time but you can stay in a motel on the side of the highway with your best friends and have the greatest time ever.
