There's nothing all that great in this world that wasn't a struggle to get.  And once you earn your reward, you'll look back and realize that the best part was the struggle, the journey.  The joy of reaching your goal is short-lived so you better enjoy the journey (example, enjoy those 10 years of med school/college, not just the PHD).
